How to Post a Job on OFM Jobs

Step-by-step guide to creating clear, effective job postings on OFM Jobs that attract top talent and streamline your hiring process.

For employers

Procedural. Someone with an account who wants to get a posting live correctly the first time.

Two ways to write it

You can write the posting yourself, or describe the role in plain language and have a draft generated for you to edit. The generated draft is a starting point rather than a finished posting: it is quicker to correct a draft than to face an empty form, but the details that decide who applies are the ones only you know.

The fields that change who applies

Several fields are not decoration. They are filters, and candidates use them.

  • Pay basis and range. Postings that state pay get better applicants than postings that do not.
  • Skills and software. These are what candidates and searches filter on.
  • Payment methods and payout frequency. Candidates screen on these before applying.
  • Screening questions. The cheapest filter you have, and the one most often skipped.

Attach tests if the skill is testable

You can require tests as part of the application. The candidate cannot complete the application without them, so everyone who reaches your pipeline has been measured on the same thing. Set a minimum where a minimum genuinely applies, and the results are marked against it automatically.

After it is live

Postings run for thirty days and then expire. Applications arrive into a pipeline you move candidates through, each with a one-line summary so you can triage a large pile quickly. Reply to the people you are not moving forward, briefly. It costs a click and it is the difference between a candidate who applies again and one who does not.

Common questions

How long does a posting stay live?

Thirty days, then it expires automatically. You can repost it.

Can I edit a posting after publishing?

Yes. Resubmitting republishes the listing, which also re-runs the automated review it went through the first time.

Should I use the AI draft or write it myself?

Either. The draft saves the blank page problem, but edit it: pay, shift and software are the fields that decide who applies, and only you know those.

How many jobs can I have live at once?

That depends on your plan. Pricing lists the limits for each.
