What does a chatter actually do?
A chatter runs the message inbox on a creator's account. You reply in the creator's voice, build a real relationship with subscribers, and turn those conversations into pay-per-view sales, tips and renewals. On most established accounts the chat inbox earns more than the subscription price does, so this is a sales job as much as a writing one.
You work a set shift covering the account's busiest fan hours. That means triaging the queue when you clock on, re-opening conversations with fans who have gone quiet, running content drops at the right moment, and leaving notes so whoever takes the next shift can pick up every thread without breaking character.
Because accounts run around the clock, agencies usually staff two to four chatters per creator across time zones. Turning up on time and handing over cleanly matters as much as your sales numbers, and it is the thing most often mentioned when an agency lets someone go.

Not always. Plenty of agencies hire on a typing test and a written sample rather than a CV, because the skills that matter are speed, tone and sales instinct rather than a previous job title. Taking the typing and English tests on your profile is usually the fastest way to be taken seriously without a track record.
Chatting itself is ordinary remote customer and sales work, on adult platforms. You should expect to sign an agreement covering confidentiality and account access. Be cautious of anyone asking you to pay a fee to be hired, to work an unpaid trial longer than a shift or two, or to use your own identity documents on a creator's account.
Shifts are usually six to eight hours and are set by the account's peak fan hours rather than your local time. Many roles are explicitly for overnight or weekend coverage, which is also where the better rates tend to be.
Most roles are hourly, often with commission on top once you have proven you can sell. Commission-only offers exist and can pay well on a busy account, but they carry all the risk, so treat the account's actual volume as the thing to verify before accepting one.
