How to Build a Standout Profile on OFM Jobs

What an employer sees first

Employers reach candidates two ways: they post a job and read applications, or they search directly. Searching is filtered by skills, software, languages, location and whether you have a webcam. If a field is empty, you are not in that filter's results. That is the single most common reason a good candidate is never seen.

On a card, the first things visible are your photo, your name, your top skill and your test results. Everything else is one click further in, and most employers do not take that click until something on the card earns it.

Fill the fields that are filters

Treat skills, software and languages as search terms rather than a summary. An employer looking for someone who knows a specific tool will filter for it, and a profile that mentions it only in a bio paragraph will not appear.

• List every tool you genuinely know, using the name the industry uses for it.
• Add every language you can work in, not only your first.
• Set your location and timezone. Shift coverage is a real hiring criterion.
• Add a photo. A card without one is a card employers scroll past.

Take the tests

Tests are the part of a profile that is not self reported, which is exactly why employers weigh them. A typing result and an English fluency recording tell an employer something your bio cannot, and they are visible on your card before anyone opens your profile.

If a job requires a test, taking it is not optional: the application will not complete without it. Taking the common ones in advance means you are never blocked at the point of applying.

Write the bio last, and keep it short

By the time someone reads your bio they have already decided you are plausible. Its job is to sound like a person, not to repeat the fields above it. Two or three sentences about what you have actually done beats a paragraph of adjectives.
